Bendtner: My Targets For Next Season

 

Nicklas Bendtner has spoken about next season with Arsenal and his priorities, which ends any speculation of him leaving to AS Roma. He talked about playing more games, goals and trophies.

 

He said  . . .

“I know everybody talks about winning things,” said Bendtner. “But that is what it is all about this year. I want to try and take a trophy home.

“I do set myself targets [in pre-season]. The main thing for everyone I think is to play a lot and of course I want to get more regularly into the squad.

“Then I want to progress in my own game. I want to prove to everyone what I can do.”

Nicklas seems hungry for success and is willing to do his all on all fronts next season, lets hope we can win the title this season ! .

Haladas 1 - 1 Arsenal Match Report

 

Arsenal started their second pre season game on Tuesday evening against Hungarian opposition Szombathelyi Haladas infront of 13, 000 spectators, Arsenal gave  debuts to Carlos Vela and Gavin Hoyte in a mixture again of first team and reserve/ youth players.

The line up was:

 First Half

Arsenal started the brighter of the two sides, in the first couple of mins a long diagonal ball by Ramsey was hit downfield for Bendtner to chase, Bendtner got there first and muscled his marker off he crossed it in for Debutant Carlos Vela who chested it down but the defender closed him down before he could pull the trigger the ball immediately rebounded out to Denilson who hit a firecracker of the bar. Arsenal were controlling the tempo off this game and was showing nice fluency to their game with quick crisp passing, Suddenly against the run of play Haladas took the lead, a through ball was played through down the middle and the on rushing Krisztian Kensesei dinked it over Manuel Almunia, Gavin Hoyte looked like he had just about managed to clear it off the line but the fourth official gave a goal to the home side. A few minutes before half time Bendtner took the ball down from the air wonderfully and threaded a pass through to the new number 14 Theo Walcott who scored via hitting the post it was 1-1 going into the interval.

                                                 Second Half

                 

Arsenal made 3 substitutions at half time Lansbury on for Ramsey, Armand Traore on for Gavin Hoyte and Randall on for Vela. The second half started at a slow pace due to the ammount of substitutions made, with half an hour to go our featured player Nicklas Bendtner came off he looked one of the best players in the first half linking the play well and showing some strong running with the ball he was replaced by Jay Simpson, Jack Wilshere was also replaced by Francis Coquelin as Arsenal changed things around.

 

Arsenal changed to a 4-5-1 with Jay Simpson playing the lone ranger, Walcott on the left, and Henri Lansbury on the right. With twenty minutes to go both sides was going for the win. Henri Lansbury crossed the ball in from the right but the Haladas defender got there just before Jay Simpson and headed it away, the game was becoming stretched Haladas put a ball down the left and Clichy looked certain to get to the ball first but he slipped and the right midfielder approached the Arsenal box and cut it back but Backary Sagna positioned himself well and cleared it out for a corner, with the hot weather both sides were tiring and the game fizzled out. The final score was 1-1 a good workout for the Gunners in the end.

 

Bendtner watch :

Nicklas was one of Arsenal’s better players in the first half and looked sharper then Saturday. He linked up well with Carlos Vela, he setup the goal for Theo Walcott, showed strong running when he was on the ball and good strength.

Haladas V Arsenal Match Preview

 

 

 

Arsenal play their second pre-season game against Hungarian opposition Szombathelyi Haladas at the VSE Stadium. Arsenal are expected to welcome back a few first team members to the squad in Emmanuel Adebayor, Emmanuel Eboue, Abou Diaby and Johan Djourou, other possible players to be returning from their holidays are Robin Van Persie and Samir Nasri. 3 youngsters have been added to the squad in Jay Simpson, Mark Randall and Jack Wilshere. It is expected to be a similar side to Saturday with the first teamers who have just returned to training to feature in the second half. Our featured player Nicklas Bendtner is expected to play a similar role as to Saturday against Barnet and play upfront with Theo Walcott.

Aldair - Sign Baptista Or Bendtner

 

Former Roma and Brazilian defender Aldair has told Roma to make a bid for either Julio Baptista or Nicklas Bendtner, Aldair who played for Roma for 13 years commented on Baptista and Bendtner by saying . . .

 

Julio Baptista is a very interesting player and could do well in the capital,”

 

“Another player that I like a lot is Bendtner, the centre forward of Arsenal, although he is still very young,” the 43-year-old said.

 

Arsenal Edge Out Barnet In Pre Season Friendly

 

Arsenal’s new season started today with a friendly against League 2 side Barnet. Arsenal played a mixture of youth and first team members in a hard fought victory at Underhill stadium. The Arsenal line up was:

Arsenal started proceedings with the kick off, and were keeping the ball well, trying to get a passing rythm going with a youthful looking side two players making their debuts in Lansbury and Ramsey. Barnet were not out of sorts though and had their fair share of posession in the first few minutes Barnet forced Almunia into action with a save low down to his right. In the first quarter of an hour Havard Nordtveit gave away a free kick on the edge of the area and Kenny Gillet stepped up and curled it into Almunia’s near post it was a suprising 1-0 lead to the league 2 side.

 

After the goal Arsenal tried to get back into the game using Aaron Ramsey’s passing skills and he was impressing, spreading the play well on a couple of occasions to the left and right wings. Arsenal was lacking that killer instinct in the final third as half time came closer and closer it looked like Barnet would go into the break with the 1-0 lead and it was to be that way. On the half time whistle Wenger didn’t look impressed with his troops and mass changes were to be made in the second period.

 

Arsenal made 11 changes, Mannone, Ogogo, Steer, Rodgers, G.hoyte, Wilshere, Barazite, Coquelin, Randall, Simpson, R. Fonte. Our featured player Nicklas Bendtner was replaced at half time, he looked a little rusty,he never really got going today and didn’t get alot of service but we know more will come from him in future pre season games. In the second half Arsenal gave a debut to recent signing Coquelin a 17 year old French Central Midfielder, Jay Simpson had Arsenal’s first chance of the second half with a deflected effort nearly dropping over the Barnet keeper but he caught it. Arsenal looked more and more dangerous as the half went on and the youngsters were impressing and looked like scoring, that goal came in the 63rd minute, Jack Wilshere many Arsenal fans will know from his Youtube compilations danced inside and played a delightful through ball to Jay Simpson and on his first game back from his loan at Millwall he fired home from a acute angle 1-1.

 

Arsenal again stepped up the tempo and looked for the winner. Arsenal got their second goal in the 74th minute, that man or should i say boy was in the thick of the action again as he raced beyond the Barnet defence and played another good through ball to Jay Simpson who on the edge of the area found Nacer Barazite who slotted home from close range 2-1 to the Gunners, and that was to be the final score, not fantastic from Arsenal but got the job done, with in the first half Ramsey impressing and in the second half Wilshere stole the show, i expect the first teamers to be more sharp next game after all this was the first game back after a long break.

Bendtner Expected To Start On Saturday

The traditional pre-season friendly between Arsenal and Barnet continues this year, on Saturday the two sides will meet at Underhill Stadium and it is expected to be a full house. This friendly is normally used for a mixture of first team regulars and youthful prospects, some players that featured in the European Championships will not play.

 

Our featured player Nicklas Bendtner is expected to start alongside Robin Van Persie, Bendtner will not wear his original squad number “26″ because it is a friendly and will most likely wear number “9″ or “10″. Eduardo is still recovering from his injury, i don’t think Wenger will play Adebayor or Hleb with all the rumours regarding their future flying around. New signing Aaron Ramsey is expected to feature from the bench, Carlos Vela starts training tomorrow so it is unlikely he will start he may come on from the bench, Samir Nasri will not play as he starts training on the 21st of July.

Bendtner And Vela Future Strikeforce ?

  

 

Two players have recently showed the positives about going out on loan and coming back a better player with getting first team experience. They are Nicklas Bendtner and Carlos Vela. Bendtner went on loan to Birmingham in 2006/07 season and scored 13 goals and was hailed as one of the best players in the Coca Cola Championship by several respected Journalists. The latter, Carlos Vela, went on a long loan process from Celta Vigo where he didn’t make no appearances due to Celta having to many non-Eu players, then he went to Salamanca where he became a fans favourite scoring 8 goals and making 15 assists. Finally he spent his last year in Spain to qualify for his Spanish passport which would gain him access to London.

 

Next season will see Bendtner and Vela more than likely link up in the Carling Cup, i am excited to see this ” big man little man” combination. I think Bendtner will drop into the hole just behind the “D” to win headers and play through balls to Vela who has been compared with Eduardo by manager Arsene Wenger, Bendtner has played this role before in the reserves with former Gunner Arturo Lupoli, the two combined magnificently with Bendtner scoring 22 goals and setting up Lupoli for almost every goal he scored.

 

So people what do you think of Nicklas Bendtner and Carlos Vela possibly linking up in the Carling Cup in the new season ?, i can see the two been the future strikeforce for many years to come.

Bendtner Tutoring Arsenal Youngster

 

Nicklas Bendtner has revealed that he has been taking time out to watch Danish youngster Jonas Rasmussen find his feet at Arsenal after joining from Auxerre. Bendtner has revealed he has talked with Jonas and has watched him play on numerous occasions, Bendtner said . . .

 

I have seen him play several times and have tried to give him good advice. Keep faith in your talent, work hard and show you are dedicated to training

Bendtner Exit talk Squashed

Nicklas Bendtner has recently been linked with Italian sides Roma and Milan, yesterday the Corriere dello Sport reported that the two clubs were after him but Nicklas’s father come agent ( Thomas Bendtner ) has all but denied these rumours saying . . .

Back To Business

 

Nicklas Bendtner and the rest of the Arsenal squad will be back at London Colney next week for Pre-Season training after the squad return from their holidays, players that have been involved in the European Championships will be given an extended rest, but for the players that did not participate it is back to business, Arsenal will start their traditional Pre Season game against Barnet on July 19th.
