Comeback Kings!

FIRST HALF
Arsenal staged a dramatic and astonishing comeback late on with 10 men at the Reebok stadium, things started brightly in the rain drenched game for Arsenal, playing one touch, two touch passing on a zippy surface perfect for Arsenal’s game style, Our featured player Nicklas Bendtner started alongside Robin Van Persie upfront as Wenger chose to rest Emmanuel Adebayor for the midweek last eight Uefa Champions League tie against Liverpool.

In the first two minutes Flamini put through Nicklas Bendtner and the Dane controlled the ball brilliantly before running past Andy O’Brien and he seemed to tugg Bendtner’s shirt, as Nicklas looked to shoot Ali Al Habsi got down low to smother the ball, Arsenal were beggining to dominate the game in the early periods, Van Persie and Bendtner were linking up well and forced Al Habsi into action with a couple of snapshots.

But then totally against the run of play the ball broke to El Hadji Diouf on the right he played a through ball on the flank to Steinsson, and Steinsson delivered a sort of ball that is a defenders nightmare and Matt Taylor got to the ball first and headed home to give the hosts the lead in the 14th minute. Despite the goal from Bolton, Arsenal were still dominating and forcing set peices a corner was swung in from Fabregas which trickled out to Toure who unleashed a low hard shot, it deflected of two players and eventually the referee gave a goal kick to Bolton.

on the 30th minute things went from bad to worse for Arsenal, Abou Diaby went in for a slide tackle to be fair hes foot was over the ball and was a dangerous tackle although, it was misstimed and was a complete accident, the referee went straight to hes backpocket and pulled out the red card, things got even worse for Arsenal on the 44th minute, Clichy had a throw deep inside the left back area of the pitch he threw the ball to Flamini and he got caught in possesion the ball broke free to Matt Taylor to score his second goal of the afternoon with a heavy deflection of Gallas.

HALF TIME

Arsenal had a mountain to climb, 10 men and 2-0 down with 45 mins remaining things were as gloomy as the grey clouds above the Reebok stadium for Arsenal, Arsenal causing pressure in the early stages of the second half, On the hour Wenger made changes Bringing on Emmanuel Adebayor for our featured player Nicklas Bendtner, who had looked lively and linked up well with Van Persie well all game, he was one of our better players. Also coming off Phillipe Senderos for wonderkid Theo Walcott, the changes brang new life into the game and this showed instantly when Van Persie won a corner and Fabregas whipped the ball in and there was captain marvel William Gallas to pop up when Arsenal needed him most he stepped up to the plate and gave Arsenal a lifeline.

Bolton suddenly looked bewildered, 5 minutes after the equalizer came Emmanuel Adebayor and Mathieu Flamini linking up beautifully and the later forcing Al Habsi into a fine low down save then the ball broke loose to Hleb he went past Garry Cahill and he took him down, penalty. stepped up Robin Van Persie showed a cool head and powerfully struck the ball in it was the equalizer and it was an amazing comeback from Arsenal, could Arsenal do the unthinkable and get the third?, answer was yes deep into the last minutes of the game Hleb was played in he cut it back and the heartbeat of the side Cesc Fabregas stuck out a leg and deflected into the net of J’lyolld Samuel, Mayhem behind the goal in the visitors end a memrobale day for Arsenal.
