Bendtner The Hero As Arsenal Pick Up 3 Points

In a tough game at the Emirates which Arsenal dominated, Nicklas Bendtner came on with 15 minutes to go and struck a dramatic late winner to give Arsenal the 3 points. All game Arsenal had been dominating but it took till the 84th minute for the breakthrough to come.

Arsenal lined up like this:

-Sagna-    -Toure-  -Djourou-  -Clichy-

-Eboue-    -Diaby-  -Denilson-   -Nasri-

               -Adebayor-   -Van Persie-

Arsenal’s first chance came to Robin Van Persie, who fired a shot towards Jaaskeilelan’s goal but was smothered by the Bolton keeper. In the 35th minute Adebayor picked up the ball on the right wing his cross was headed out by Danny Shittu but fell into the path of Van Persie whos volley flew just over.

Arsenal looked more eager with 5 minutes to go till half time, but couldn’t get the breakthrough it was 0-0 going into the interval in a frustrating half for the Gunners.

Arsenal made no changes for the second period, but Bolton made one the injured Jonas Elmander was replaced by Mustapha Riga. It was still 0-0 on the hour so Arsenal decided to bring in Mexican whizkid Carlos Vela for Frenchman Abou Diaby. Vela would go out to the right and Nasri would drop into the central role.

Arsenal then created the best chance of the game, good work from Carlos Vela down the left he squared it to Nasri who put in Adebayor and just as Adebayor was going to shot Andy O’Brien rushed back to block a certain goal bound effort. With 20 minutes to go Adebayor and Van Persie combined well the latter dancing past two defenders before hitting the post.

Then in the 75th minute our featured player Nicklas Bendtner was introduced, and with his first touch he nearly scored Samir Nasri’s delightful delivery was met by a towering Bendtner who’s header was smothered by Jaaskeleinan.

With 6 minutes to go, Arsenal were looking nervous but one man would change that. Denilson slid Van Persie in down the left, the Dutchman whipped in a great ball and Bendtner stretched out got there before Gardner and it hit the back of the net. It was 1-0 to Arsenal. Bendtner’s goal was followed by the fans chant for him “Super, Super, Nick” that goal would decide the game and it finished 1-0 to the Gunners.

  1. Excellent stuff!!!

I’m so glad he scored, he seems to be Arsenal’s hero when it counts. It’s not a coincidence he scores their most important goals!!

Maybe this will shut up all the doubters.

  2. mine mine mine (:

  3. helo dude,im chelsea fanz, please come to my chelsea blog at ,dunt forget to link diz blog

  4. A really well taken goal. He created a few really good chances in the short time he was on. I still see him as a supersub and think we’ll see him having more impact as a starter next season. In my mind he is having much of the same progress Walcott did a year or two ago, he is slowly getting closer to becoming a regular in the side…

  5. He did a greta job, well done!

  6. Wicked goal. He is our best super sub we have had in years.
