Arsenal got their Austrian tour underway on Tuesday, facing Austrian 4th division side SC Columbia in hot conditions. Arsenal welcomed back Denilson, Diaby, Van Persie, Ramsey, and our featured player Nicklas Bendtner. SC Columbia took a suprising lead in the 35th minute, a mistake from Almunia let Lehner in for a tap in and the amauters went wild.

Less than a minute later our feature player Nicklas Bendtner was on hand as he tapped in from close range, after good work from Diaby. Arsenal then took the lead 3 minutes later Aaron Ramsey was the scorer with a low hard drive from 20 yards out, it was a well taken goal. Nicklas then got his second, combinding brilliantly with Aaron Ramsey and then rounding the keeper to tap the ball home. It was now 1-3 to the Gunners going into the interval.

The half time whistle proved to be the end of action in todays friendly for Nicklas, but he’s teammates carried the batton and fired in another 3 in the second half. Aaron Ramsey, Robin Van Persie (2), William Gallas the scorers. Arsenal are in action again this Monday against Hungarian outfit Szombathelyi Haladas. 1. Excellent news!

I saw the 3rd goal and it was typical Bendtner, just the way how he likes to be played.

Quick 1 – 2 football with another play and then bam, in the goal.

  2. yeh. good point Jay, it is the way Bendtner likes to play. We saw a goal similar to that against Hull last season away when Nick played a one two with Robin.
