Bendtner: Euro Qualifier Opener A Bit Early To Return
Denmark face Iceland on the 7th of September and will have to do with out 2 of their key strikers for the past 3 years through retirement and injury. Firstly, Jon Dahl Tommasson has opted to retire on a high after scoring in the S.A World Cup and achieving the record of all time top scorer for the national side.
Nicklas Bendtner looks like he won’t be just ready in time for the clash away to Iceland, but at the same time says his recovery from injury is going to schedule and he has to be patient.
Nicklas goes on to say . . .
I think unfortunately that championship fight is too early for me that i can reach to be ready. I want to be an optimist and i will do everything to get ready for the battle, because its important for the national team, but it is simply to fast for me to achieve it.
I hope to be back in action next month and feel really good progress. It seems more sensible now, but i must be patient.
Asides from Iceland, The Dane’s will face the likes of Fellow Scandinavians Norway, Portugal, and Cyprus for the right to play in the European Championships 2012 in Ukraine.
