Denmark Scrape Win @ Home To Iceland

I caught the second half of the Denmark – Iceland game… Thomas Kahlenberg fired in a late winner via a deflection in stoppage time to send Danish fans into raptures, in much of the game Denmark played with alot of the ball but didn’t really look like breaking down the Iceland mean defence. It was clear that it would be a much needed boost when Nicklas Bendtner returns to the fray in October when they face Portugal.

The notable absentees were Nicklas Bendtner, Simon Poulsen, Gronkjaer, Sorensen, Evenoldsen and Jorgensen and Tomasson ( the latter due to international retirement.) Denmark’s next qualifier will be against the well-recognised Portugal, where they’ll travel to the Estadio de Dragao (Porto’s ground) the side which Bendtner scored a hat-trick against last season, The Dane’s will be hoping to have some of their more recognised names back for the trip. In other news Arsenal Reserves beat Blackburn Reserves 4-3 At Barnet, New signing Sqcualli played, along with Djourou, Denilson and Lukasz Fabianski.
