Bendtner In Charity Help For Congolese Diabetic Children

In Africa, more people die from Diabeties than HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

In developing countries it is difficult to gain access to insulin. We would like to support children with diabetes in Africa, because they are vulnerable, “says Allan Flyvbjerg (chairman of diabeties associaton.)
Bendtner has donated a pair of Nike Vapor boots and a signed Arsenal shirt to the charity and has commented on the cause . . .
I think that World Diabetes Day is a good opportunity to gather funds for children with diabetes in Congo. Children mean a lot to me, so it pains me to hear that so many children die from a disease that they would probably have been treated in our part of the world.
It’s a good opportunity to highlight that too many children live in extreme poverty and therefore do not get the treatment they need when they get hit by a disease like diabetes. I would therefore support the Diabetes Association’s efforts to raise funds and highlight the problem.
My uncle, Pat, has diabetes and therefore I am familiar with the problems associated with the disease.
