NB52 Scores + Plays A Part In Goal But Arsenal Pegged Back *Video*
Arsenal travelled to Lancashire yesterday hoping to continue their winning momentum, after the fantastic win over Chelsea just 48 hours before. Our featured player Nicklas Bendtner got only his Second Premier League start this season and grabbed hold of his chance with two hands as the Big Dane played a big part in Arsenal’s 2 goals.
In a tense game Wigan came out the blocks early and looked to put the pressure on Arsenal with midfield powerhouses’ Diame and Hendry Thomas flying into the tackles and looking to get the ball to N’zogbia on every occassion. NB52 was set a right wing position where many has seen him play at the beggining of last campaign where he can do a good job with hes technicall qualities, Wigan took the lead early on with a penalty after a jinking run from Frenchman N’zogbia, after replays should it actually looked a dive but Wigan made no mistake with the penalty Ben Watson taking full advantage to slot in into the corner.
Arsenal then upped their game, after conceding with Denilson, Diaby, and Rosicky started the 1 touch- 2 touch passing and Wigan were starting to struggle to get near them. NB52 then created abit of magic when he turned away from two Wigan defenders and looked to be through on goal but was hacked down, he took the resulting Free-kick which was roughly 20 yards out with a powerful potshot but it was blocked out for a corner for the Gunners’.
The goal then came for Arsenal, Maroune Chamakh with a clever flick onto NB52, who made a great run in behind before shimmying his marker and firing a low shot towards Al-Habsi’s goal the keeper parried it and Andrei Arshavin was on hand with an acrobatic overhead kick to draw Arsenal on term’s, It was great improvisation and technique from Arsenal little Russian.
Bendtner’s goal then came, it was great work from him too, again Andrei Arshavin with a firm pass which looked not ment for Bendtner, but hes first touch was class and the rest was cool as ice … It was 1-2 to the Gunners’ and Nicklas celebrated his goal with a dedication to his newborn babyboy with a thumb sucking celebration.
Wigan equalized late on though, with a corner form the left, swung towards the back post which was flicked back accross goal and Scquilacci headed past is own keeper, but he couldn’t have done much more as it was virtually on the line with a Wigan defender behind him, It ended 2-2 but Arsenal really should have taken the spoils.
Congratulations to Bendtner, on his news of his new born son & it was great to see him start hopefully he gets more chances in the upcoming games!
