NB52 Scores Wonder Strike And Puts Arsenal On The Road To Wembley * See Goal Here *

Arsenal booked their place in the Carling Cup, It got frantic but Arsenal got it done in the end. Nicklas Bendtner got a start tonight, albeit out wide in another right wing role, he had a good display and kept possesion well and was neat on the ball, supplying some nice crosses but as the Danish manager said, he is a little bit restricted when he is on the right and personally i think he is better in the centre when also drifting out to the left side.

Arsenal started brightly, but it was always going to be a patient night for The Gunners’ faithful. Arsenal created their first chance, Fabregas finding Bendtner on the right wing, Bendtner then swung a ball in to the back stick, The stretching Van Persie hit the bar, Ipswich where still hanging on.

Pretty much the same continued throughout the most of the half and Ipswich frustrated Arsenal till half time. Eboue replaced injured Sagna just after the interval, Arsenal still looked on top, but was finding it hard to break down the Ipswich backline, who mostly had 10 men behind the ball, A moment of class from our featured player – Nicklas Bendtner changed that, a moment reminescent from Highbury days when Thierry Henry used to grace the turf, a great long diagonal ball out to the left to Bendtner, who took the ball out the air magnificently and cut the defender with a turn before curling it home, it was a world class effort.

The game then would obviously change, Arsenal put their foot down and from a corner Laurent Koscielny scored a header the Emirates erupted, The Gunners’ faithful could sense a trip to Wembley, Arsenal’s first visit their. Captain Fabregas then added a 3rd after a neat one two with Andrei Arshavin, it was Arshavin’s second assist of the night. So Arsenal in the end got their job done and reached the final.

Bendtner had a good game, put out on the right in not his favourite position, but done a job well. Throughout the night he would sometimes drift to the left and showed expertly why, I’m not suprised about this goal from Bendtner I’ve watched him for a long time and know what he’s capable of despite his 6″4 frame he still is blessed with good technique and is quick along the ground.
